Starting psyllium husk - will update this as I go!

Starting psyllium husk today - I have IBS M (currently leaning on C)

Realised my bad BMs might come from incomplete BMs and then my body overreacting. I’ve found very few food triggers outside of dairy & fatty meat so it seems like a transit issue.

So I’m finally biting the bullet on seeing fibre helps by making my BMs better and hopefully reducing flare ups.

Put this off for a long time for fear it would make me worse - flare ups are so painful & the urgency is terrible so I was really nervous but I guess can’t know what helps without trial & error!

Making a thread so if you’re nervous like I was and would like to see how it goes for someone else - maybe this will help! :)

Will return to this thread with updates every couple days. It might help; it might not.

Day 1 - half teaspoon of husk powder with orange juice & water after!

Didn’t have any bloating or cramping! Did have a BM after a couple days not being able to 🥳

Day 2 - half teaspoon!

Having a bit of nausea, might not be related but going to try and drink more water as I wonder if the increased fibre is making me need more.

Oh dear it has caused a flare up. Will still persist for a couple more days but be more mindful of my water intake throughout the day
