Why are we still stuck with a mediocre selection of preset color palettes to use?

There are so many pieces that look great but I want one aspect of them colored differently. So I try a color pallette and it ruins most of it but the one part I want changed is good. So I try a similar palette and all of a sudden the part I wanted isn't the color I thought it would be. Why can't we just make custom palettes?
