DND inspired story that has a "Patterns" based magic system and a protagonist with lost memories.

I’m trying to identify a fantasy novel or web novel that begins with the protagonist waking up alone in an empty field with complete memory loss, unable to remember his name, past, or how he arrived there. The opening is very atmospheric and introspective, focusing on how unfamiliar his body feels and the unsettling realization that he has no memory at all.
As the story progresses, he discovers and begins interacting with a magic system based around “Patterns” that exist within the world itself, almost like underlying structures woven into reality. The protagonist travels through the world trying to identify and repair issues or disturbances within these Patterns, and he is accompanied by a side character. The story had a strong D&D-inspired or progression fantasy feel, like at one point in the story, he comes across Waterdeep.
I must mention that the main character might be named Ash but I am not too sure. Please help me solve this!
