A1806 was formally introduced by Assemblyman Verrelli (D-15) on January 13, 2026 and referred the same day to the Assembly Oversight, Reform and Federal Relations Committee (AOR), chaired by Assemblyman Avi Schnall (D-30, Lakewood).
The bill amends CREAMM Act §18 (N.J.S.A. 24:6I-35) to require CRC rules prohibiting cannabis flower above 30% total THC and solid or liquid concentrates above 60% total THC. No Senate companion has been filed.
This is a direct, near-term hit to Class 2 manufacturers. A 60% concentrate cap is below where most NJ-produced distillates, vape cartridges, live resin, and full-spectrum extracts currently test.

Message your state leaders:
I strongly oppose A1806 and any THC potency caps on cannabis products.
Caps at 30% for flower and 60% for concentrates do not reflect how products are currently made, tested, or consumed in New Jersey.
These limits will remove compliant products from the regulated market and push consumers to unregulated sources.
We do not support potency caps.
We support safe, tested, regulated access.
