Timeline
My husband and I had our interview yesterday at the Jacksonville FO and we wanted to share our experience.
Here is our timeline:
December 19 2025: Receipt notice received
January 16, 2026: Biometrics appointment
March 4, 2026: uploaded unsolicited evidence (even though our lawyer said not to)
April 2, 2026: interview scheduled
May 12, 2026: interview
Once we arrived for our interview we found out they won’t let you in any earlier than 15 minutes before your appointment. No issues with parking.
Inside there are restrooms and you can leave the waiting area to use them whenever you need to.
We waited about two hours past our scheduled interview time before we were called. I think it just depends on who your IO is. Because there were people who came in with us who were called shortly after checking in.
Once we were called in for our interview we felt welcomed. We were sworn in and we got down to business. Our IO casually asked us how we met, when did we become exclusive, and how our relationship progressed from there (we married after 5 months of dating). I was then asked as the petitioner what my husband’s name and birthday is and where was he born. I was also asked if I knew of my husband’s immigration status when we met and if he ever lied to me.
Then the questions shifted to my husband. They asked what my name is, my birthday, how many people live in our household. He was asked what his stepdaughter’s name is and her birthday. Then we went through all the 485 questions.
After that we were told our case will go to a supervisor for review. And if approved we will be getting a conditional green card.
Our I-130 was approved later that day. And our 485 changed status to actively being reviewed. Hoping things go well, but we know we are not out of the woods yet.
