Well, I’m finally at the end of my rope with bagless vacuums. We were sold the hype 10 years ago and have gone through a Shark upright, a Dyson upright, a Dyson stick, and now a Shark stick (which is still functioning because it’s fairly new). So… help me decide on a long term investment! Please?
Here are the details:
I’m not too concerned about the budget. I’d rather invest in something of quality that’s repairable.
2700 sq ft house, currently 90% carpet but we’re considering putting hard floors in most of the living spaces. That would take it to about 25% carpet + area rugs. There are two flights of carpeted stairs.
We’re considering the hard floors because my partner has a number of allergies. This is also why I’d like to switch to a bagged option.
We have 3 shedding dogs (Border Collie, Pomeranian, and a short haired but constantly shedding mutt). The border collie is always covered in grass/dirt/mud because… border collie (iykyk)
We are 4 humans (3 long-haired females - two of which are classically messy children under 8.)
The amount of hair and debris in this house is frightening. We keep up with vacuuming frequently, but I’m certain the Dyson is missing so much. And when it’s emptied I’m grossed out and it’s not good for my partner’s delicate lungs.
So… what do we think? I was leaning Sebo canister but have never owned a canister of any kind. Is a D4 overkill? Is a D1 underkill? Am I going to be changing bags constantly? Help! Thank you!
