I'm 18M (if that's relevant anyhow) and I've been having trouble sleeping since the last year or two but it's gotten worse. It started with daytime drowsiness, like I haven't slept for days even after 8 hours of sleep. The drowsiness starts right after an hour or so from when I wake up. Then the last year I had multiple episodes of Sleep Paralysis (as if something is sitting on my chest, initially I would get scared and try to scream but my voice is gone, I can't move my legs or hands, sometimes it even felt like I'm falling, all this while I feel completely concious, I'm used to it now, and I just wait for it to be over) and my body starts itching whenever I'm trying to sleep, as if my brain doesn't want me to sleep, anytime I scratch an itch somewhere, it starts itching somewhere else like if I scratch my head, my back that wasn't itching before, starts itching (tried bathing with soap and without soap, even tried moisturizer). Not to mention how much my thoughts race.

It's really affecting me. Like I mentioned, I feel sleepy throughout the day, so when I'm studying, I feel extremely sleepy, so I decide to sleep but I just can't. My thoughts race, my body itches and even if I manage to lie still, I feel like I haven't slept, like I was conscious the entire time. I can't study, I can't watch tv (with full focus) because of how sleepy I feel but I can't sleep neither. I went to a doctor, and they said I just need to excercise more, relax and avoid caffeine before sleep. But none of this has helped. I asked if there were medications for this but I was told, it's better if sleep comes naturally. I haven't sleep for more than 2-3 hours per night since the last 2 weeks, I feel like shit. What should I do?
