Hi all,

Edit: Everyone thank you so much!!! Really valuable information for us and we will take it with a pinch of salt. We haven't seen the property yet (booked this week) but I've made a long of list things to check, take pictures and videos and ask so many questions.

From our perspective, as long as the electricity is up and running, boiler is working, no mould or leak and plumbing is working , decent Internet (we're working from home) it should be fine. We can work with ugly.

We have another pretty property on our mind and if it's not in a livable condition, we will go for a hassle-free small 3bed house.

Post: We're first time buyers in our early 30s (no dependants) and priotising location over pretty houses. We don't have excellent level of DIY knowledge but totally up for it and would actually enjoy it.
Our problem is that the property is at our budget limit and we will be left with no savings if we purchase and move in. We would definitely go for a level 3 survey but we could only refurb slowly while living in it.

Are we delusional or is this something doable?

For reference this is the link to the property and it's been sitting in the market since October 2025 and reduced to 325k last month.
