I LOVE the Mask

When I was younger I loved the original film and quoted it relentlessly annoying everyone around me.

When I got older I got Vol. 1 of the comic series and absolutely fell in love with its dark comedy and compelling characters. (Still need to get around to Vol. 2 though.)

I just find it to be a compelling concept in it of itself. The idea of a mask that brings out the wearer’s id makes for so many wild and crazy scenarios depending on who puts it on making it lend well to the anthology format.

I just love the whole franchise and hope one day we’ll get a comeback.

I think you only need to watch seasons 1 & 5 to understand the story.

Think about it. It has a clear beginning and end and most of the characters there are in the first season. It can be assumed there’s been a time jump and you can watch it like that (obviously watch season 4 episode 1 & 4 so the you can understand the TikTok stuff). My friends watched it like that (per my recommendation) and now it’s in their top 3 shows.

Slasher movies where the killer is on a bloody rampage for most of the movie.

A lot of the time I watch a slasher I find myself disappointed that most of the gory action and carnage is saved for the ending climax so I like when most of the runtime has that constant chase factor and has a killer that is going on an absolute rampage not caring if he gets caught. Bonus points if the kills are creative and gory.

Movies I’d say that have this style:
Halloween Kills
Silent Night Deadly Night OG
Hatchet
My Bloody Valentine Og & 3D

Just finished 2 and had fun with it but I’m very apprehensive towards the future for this series with Clive Barker slowly drifting away from any creative input. I like dumb fun & so bad it’s good movies but I wanna know if and which ones I should even bother with.
