I made a small Chrome extension called Let’sFocus because I kept opening YouTube or Instagram for one thing and getting pulled into short form content.
It removes YouTube Shorts from the homepage, hides the Shorts tab, removes Shorts from search, and blocks the Shorts page.
On Instagram it blocks Reels and Explore, redirects those pages back home, and hides those links from the sidebar.
Everything else still works normally. Videos, subscriptions, feed, messages, stories.
It’s lightweight, always on, and fully local. No tracking or data collection.
Built this mostly for myself, but I’m curious what people here think.
Would you use something like this? Any features you’d want?
