In late January, my cat injured his toe, and it looked like the nail had fallen out. That toe healed but somehow the outer toe got infected. He got an antibiotic shot at this point.

I've been going back and forth to the vet this whole time. He hated wearing the boot and he could remove it if he wasn't wearing a cone. Then I noticed it might be dirty on the inside so I got disposable booties instead.

The vet said that if it doesn't improve in a few days, he'll get another antibiotic shot. And if that doesn't work, they would have to amputate the toe. Has this happened to anyone? Is there anything I'm missing that I should be doing?
