I feel like this is just a modern version of that. 100m claimed waterproof. Meant as a be seen light or I suppose low ambient light.

Has the ol’ d*ck twist ui. Quite simple. Just give it a twist. Included type c rechargeable 16340 cell.

Initial impression. Tbh I was a bit skeptical wjth the plastic as possible cost cutter but seems the quality is good. Reminds me of Nitecore plastic or wuben plastic. It’s glow in the dark even with the black version.
Other thing I’m skeptical is the exposed type c. I’ll do a water test later but I suppose it’s rated for rain and it’s good enough. The loopdot also has an exposed port so maybe that’s not an issue.

Everything feels good in the articulation. Feels smooth and it handles the full range you would need.

The bottom is the magnet which is enough with the movable head

Of course I’m a fan of the style of clip which made my HD03 get a lot of use. I wouldn’t say it’s a replacement but that you can own both and give them different roles.

I feel the flood may shoot out farther as opposed to the led array of the hd03. With the ability to point you can have a more directional flood

Rgb is not powerful enough to navigate but good for ambient and I think I’ll use red the mode as a night vision saving function. Of course you can use it to blink as a be seen light.

No replaceable battery and tbh I feel certain formats cannot have it ever and that’s headlamps and clip lights because thin and weight is important when mounting on the body. I dunno I’ve learned to accept built in batteries. I still have a Rovyvon that works from 2020.

Overall I like the light and I can myself using it for hiking walking and cycling. Hiking means I can mount it anywhere. Usually my hd03 has to be on the waist and not shoulder strap. Walking is similar but difference is that if I walk in a pedestrian area , I would have people at the opposite direction it would be nice to just point it down and not blind others. Cycling which I usually clip the hd03 onto the brake cables doesn’t allow me to pinpoint the light direction. So an articulating head would be welcomed.

I definitely have a type. I try to get pocket FP more than others quite simply because it’s easier to carry day to day.
Cons is some of them will just have short cartridge compatibility. TBH most are comfortable enough capped.

I just finished a YouTube review on my top 3 with the Hongdian M2 being the number 1. This Black Forest minimo didn’t arrive in time but that ok. It wouldn’t crack into the top 3 I think. Edit: would YouTube link be considered self promotion?

I also have a Pencket on the way so excited about that
