I'm obsessed with going to Egypt solo because I naively think there won't be harassment because I'm not super white
It's probably an irrational thought, so feel free will try to convince me otherwise heh
I was in Turkey with a friend. She's slavic and she was harassed numerous times every day, me only once (at all trip! And it wasnt even Turkish men). We're the same age and the same weight, but I look darker than even many Turkish women. I think they accept me as one of their own, so they don't think I'm a tourist who won't cause a scene or be afraid to go to the police or other help. Other Russian women say that in Turkey, men follow them in droves and don't understand "no." My friend wore oversized clothes. I wore bare shoulders, dresses, and tight clothes. She's flat-chested, and I'm not at all. I suspect they fetishize foreigners and aren't as bold with women of their own nationality. I felt super comfortable in Tutkey, even in bad not touristic areas. And I wonder if I'll feel just as comfortable in Egypt? Without dresses and bare shoulders, but still. (The fact that women are forced to discass this all is disgusting.)
