Hi. Our cat has always coughed up hair balls. But in the past month or so she has started coughing but with no hair balls.

It seemed to have been every now and again. But it has happened twice today and she looks uncomfortable. It lasts at least a minute and she goes low and stretches her neck out. Her diaphragm expands and contracts a fair amount with each cough (wheeze). I think she is 12 years old, neutered, not sure of breed (mixed black grey and white). Based in uk.

Any ideas? Definately going to get her to the vets when we can get an appointment.
