AMG Nursing School NYC

I am plan on enrolling into the ADN RN program and I would like to hear about the school policies or any experiences with enrolling at another institution for BSN after graduation from AMG.

In the moment

Grief and happiness can both coexist but it’s not something a NICU Parent isn’t familiar with. When you envision your pregnancy and your baby shower and your birth plan . You never plan or even consider an early birth or a discharge without a baby.An emergency delivery a silent operating room and an isolette being rushed out with your tiny mighty fighter heading to the NICU. I know this far too well, I know what it feels like and it hurts like hell. Even after surviving several months of the that brutal stay and watching, praying, crying, and hoping for a miracle you’re still happy for medical interventions and life saving measures. Yet, you’re sad because every night until your baby discharge date you went home empty handed, empty on the inside and just numb. I don’t think anyone outside of the parents that have dealt with this truly understands how much strength is required and how much gratitude you need to get through every day. Even after you have left the NICU the grief can still find its way into your body in the same moment as happiness.

I am a first time mom and I had a baby prematurely that lead to a four and a half month nicu stay. During that time I learned medical terminology resigned from my job and showed up to the hospital every day from 7am-7pm. Prior to my child birth I was working in a psych facility and worked alongside psych nurses and was working twelve hour shifts six days a week. I am considering going back to school once my child is three years old because that’s when at home therapy will end and I will have free time to study while he is in school without interruptions. I was looking at private schools in nyc I notice AMG nursing school in Brooklyn . I need some advice because I am over thirty and feel like I can make an impact as a labor and delivery nurse for anyone that may endure what I went through.
