I’ve recently started working as a contractor in the tech industry as a developer, and I currently use an accountant to handle my GST and tax returns. I understand that they follow standard accounting practices, but I’ve also heard that some accountants are able to identify ways to significantly reduce GST liabilities.
I know a few people who seem to be paying much less GST than I am. Would it be inappropriate or unethical to ask my accountant to help identify ways to minimise my GST?
