approval!!
hi everyone!
i have only posted a couple times in this community, but have relied lots on posts and comments throughout the process. it has been an overwhelming process for sure.
here is the details of our case & some experiences:
january 6, 2025 - i-130/i-765 submitted
april 12, 2025 - i-485 submitted
may 2025 - i-765 approved
may 2025 - rfe requested
july 2025 - rfe received/processing
november 20, 2025 - interview scheduled (i uploaded evidence on the same day an interview was scheduled)
january 8, 2026 - interview attended: our interviewer requested additional information before an official decision could be made, no official rfe issued.
end of april 2026 - congressional inquiry submitted
may 2, 2026 - case processing notification
may 9, 2026 - case approved!
we submitted as much evidence as possible with our application, including joint back account, credit card, photographs, affidavits, lease, insurance, etc.
to the interview, we brought our christmas cards, wedding save the dates (we are hosting a formal wedding soon), new photos, tickets/maps/trip information, photos with family, updated lease, additional updated bills, additional to beneficiary to accounts/insurance
the questions at the interview were pretty straightforward. some open ended (tell me about your relationship, why did you get married, when did you know the relationship was marriage material, etc), yes/no from 485, and then additional evidence to be added was requested.
