Hi,
Only my spouse is working and I am a student. I am extending both of our permits and doing it myself. So, can I include the same fund for both of us. The tuition fee might be around 13000CAD and only last semester is left to be completed on Fall as summer is my break.
In my case I will tell spouse is the sponsor for me and in my spouse's case (for SOWP), I will include spouse's own income.
- 4 months of bank statements (~CAD 3,000/month income)
- Bank balance certificate (~CAD 10,000 current balance)
- 3 months of pay stubs (matching the bank statements)
Is this sufficient for the financial part?
I only know vibe coding. I have fair understanding of DSA, but if you ask me to code a data and save it in arrays, etc. I can't do it myself. I know all theories of what they are but can't code by my own.
What kind of roles would be better to apply for as I may not get software developer roles?
I have completed my degree in CS almost with healthcare background. I honestly used vibe coding to do all my projects and I don't even know a single code almost to write without vibe coding, but I understand all the theories, data structures and algorithms but even we were taught in that way that I had to resort to vibe coding to learn.
I am just wondering do we have to code every single line in real job as a fresher? Will my degree really helpful for me in real job as a software engineer? What other related jobs can I better start looking into?
I have healthcare background and I was interested in switching to CS. I am almost graduating andlost after seeing how difficult is it to get that first software job.
I am thinking to switch to some healthcare related IT jobs. I have health information management on my mind. But I am again waiting for 2 years of studies.
With my CS degree I can actually get better jobs, but I don't even know how to code a sigle line without LLM's as I did vibe coding entirely during my study period. I cannot code a single line without using LLM's but have good theoretical knowledge of data structures, algorithms, etc.
Should I aim for software related jobs by getting more specific certifications for web development, aws, etc, or should I aim for healthcare jobs. So confused. My aim is to get a job and does not matter how much I am being paid.
Yup I changed my career and now almost gonna finish my course and thinking which jobs should I target as a fresher and what certs can I do to help me land my first tech job. I am open to anything from low to mid end jobs for starting off. Really need a proper guidance. My ultimate goal is to get a remote job which might be possible in few years?
Hi, I came to Canada through the consultants so except for my coop application, everything like study permit, sowp, etc. have been done with them.
Now, I want to extend the study permit as it is expiring soon and I still have courses left to be completed. I thought it would be fairly easy like the coop application, but turns out it also needs the financial information and I am blank once again.
I searched through my universities' guides and also AI, but I have no confidence of how much of bank info is required etc. and I am being tempted to hire consultants again and they're asking 250 CAD for that.
I have seen so many people do everything themselves and I am like dude are you so dumb. Is this only my feeling or does it still make sense to hire a consultant at this era of AI's?
Hi, I want to know what work actually looks like in software, data, or cloud jobs, especially in low- to normal-tier companies. In my previous paramedical internship, I was taught how to use the instruments and perform the tests, so I could learn on the job even if I did not know everything at the start.
I have studied the theory behind software, cloud computing, frontend, and backend, but I have not written full code from scratch because most of my projects were done with vibe coding. So I am worried that if I get a job, I may not know how to work properly. Will I learn on the job, or will I be completely lost?
I am confident I can handle interviews because I understand the theory and have practiced some LeetCode, and I am not aiming for top-tier companies. I just want to understand how the actual work is done in real companies.
