I tried to deposit a $9k check into an account that is joint with my wife and only used to receive miscellaneous checks occasionally, and her social security.

I was denied as my limit is $1000.00. I called support and was told that's how it is, that I should take the check the next time I visit a fidelity branch. It's specific to the account being deposited into.

I have significant assets with Fidelity, but this is ridiculous. To look at only the one account and not the entire portfolio value.

Unbelievable. I think I may switch to Schwab or Vanguard.

Oh, they also pretty much made me drive to the branch to get a form approved. Guess they never heard of docusign.

Thanks,

jimmy
