I bought this house that had a painted deck outside. It looked great initially, but it’s quickly become clear they slapped some paint on for the real estate photos, as it’s already peeling. Should I remove the paint (and how do I remove it?) and stain it? There’s also a lower deck that I think is for a hot tub (see 2nd photo) that has some vinyl(?) plank. The previous owner was a pretty good DIYer, but a lot of things are half finished - I wonder if he meant to continue that onto the main deck? If that’s an option, is it just laid overtop, or do I have to remove what’s already there? Thanks in advance for the advice, I don’t know where to even begin.
