I want to start off by saying this is my first time on this subreddit. I am a 20-year-old male and was recently diagnosed with UC about 5 months ago. I'd been experiencing the symptoms for a whole year prior to my diagnosis but finally got medical help this past winter when I agreed to a colonoscopy. Being fairly new to this, I wanted to get some insight on what other people's symptoms are because I have no idea if I'm being dramatic or what I'm feeling is related to UC. I always wake up every morning exhausted, and my muscles are so sore, and the most menial tasks get me so tired. I consider myself a pretty hardworking and independent person, but it's so discouraging having to feel this way - I'm constantly taking meds to help with the soreness. I also love eating certain foods and partaking in other activities that people say trigger flare-ups/aren't good. How do people know which foods to avoid and genuinely how do you do it? I dont think I can possibly give up spicy foods or taco bell or alcohol lol. I also feel like for the past 2 years I've just have had a toll on my mental health (idk if other ppl have felt like this). I am incredibly grateful I found out why I've been having digestive issues but I am also terrified about what it means for my life as an incurable condition. I'm super new to this and want to know if I'm being overdramatic and lazy or if other people also feel this way/what you're doing to deal with it
