I know it's not a requirement and it's fine to play as a female protagonist but I just find it funny how I'm literally a guy and have yet to do a full game as a Male V. I swear one of these days I'm gonna put on some gorilla arms and do a Don't Fear The Reaper ending but for now I'm on my like 4th playthrough playing as a Female V with Mantis Blades and running off with Judy and the nomads.

I'm literally addicted to Fem V. I have a problem.

Now to be fair I am biased since I am around that age irl (I'm 24). But seriously, David Martinez was 18 years old! Night City is a hectic enough place for an ambitious young adult to chase an adventure right out the gate. Gangsters irl start out younger anyway, and while yea, you can argue that a 23 year old taking on Night City and becoming a legend overnight is unrealistic. I argue that Johnny Silverhand, the terrorist who blew up Arasaka tower and saved your life via engram, is a hell of a wildcard to keep in your back pocket. V would totally be toast right now if it wasn't for the construct, multiple times!

EDIT: Maybe I should clarify to make my stance clear. It's not that I prefer a 23 year old V. It's just that in the grand dystopia of Night City, I don't see it as that much of a thematic issue regarding the moral decay of NC.
