For context I write primarily storyboard and graphics. I have been writing a series that is primarily third person omniscient, occasionally peeking into character’s minds as to see what they are thinking behind their outward masks. However I decided to write a more personal story pertaining to one particular character in the story.

I think it would be a good Idea at writing the story in first person perspective of the protagonist, however I think that I’m having trouble with developing emotional understandings of other characters aside from the protagonist.

The expectation is to make a jumping on point for my stories, where the first person story is standalone but builds on the already written third person omniscient stories.

With that being said the main ask of this post is to ask for advice on:

  1. How to convey hidden emotions of characters in the first person perspective without the protagonist knowing.

  2. General tips for understanding dynamics of limited perspective on emotions in the first person point of view.
