My gf laughed about the religion when she found out

I'm new practicing and have a few altars so far. For Lady Aphrodite and Artemis; Lord Apollon and Ares.

I've always has a huge knowledge of the myths and religion, I've studied it before starting to practice. I still do my research ofc

My gf is a Muslim, and tho there might be aspects of her religious I find bad of oppressive, I've never belittled her for believing, I did expose how I find hard believing in one all powerful all loving all knowing god when she asked. She had the belief that I'm an atheist

I invited her to my room for the first time after putting up my altars and starting practicing. She said it looks like a witch's room. I asked her how could she know if she hadn't known any witches. She had questions about the religion. I've answered them in detail.

She laughed. She laughed A LOT. I think she was shocked and didn't know how to handle it but it stung. She laughed when I mentioned that there's not only one Theoi. She asked several times if I was sick or feeling ill. She laughed after asking if any of the Theoi are gay(???) I answered that some of them has homosexual relationships or desires in the myths but that myths aren't taken literal and that the Theoi are above human sexual labels.

After explaining she said I'm free to believe what I want, and that she was mean and apologized hurriedly a couple of times. I just sat there when she laughed. I said what if I laughed when you explained smth about Islam. She said she would cry. I just stare at her. She defended herself saying that it was a new thing to her, and that I had knowledge about Islam.

I've tried not to think about it much cause it makes me sad. Even tho our relationship is going very good (I had doubts, which I've prayed Lady Aphrodite for), I feel like she truly disrespected me, my Theoi and what I believe. I don't know if I should bring it up.

I've had an interest for Greek mythology since I can remember and I know many stories. However, I'm kinda new to practice and I'm very confused

The Theoi are not their myths, that I can understand, since the stories are manmade and created to explain certain themes. So I don't judge Lord Zeus or others's actions. But if they're not their myths, what do we actually know about them? In the myths Lord Ares and Lady Aphrodite were lovers. Does this mean they actually weren't? I doubt everything, even the filial and familiar relationships. If the myths are manmade how can we actually know if for example Lady Artemis and Lord Apollon are really siblings?

Sorry about the rant, I wanna make a good practice and understand (and connect) better to our Theoi.

Thank you all for your help. I feel more inspired and clear headed
