If someone enjoys Shakespeare and more difficult literature over basic and more accessible works, is it not always the case this person has an above average IQ? Are interests in things like chess, history, philosophy, or other more complex activities not always a signal of high intelligence?

I actually took the WAIS - IV years ago and revisited this sub. I took the core and almost all of my scores are exceptionally lower. I also played around on this sub a while back and took a few tests and most were 120+.

Core is giving me around a 109 and says my digit span is 50th percentile.

My forwards, backwards, and sequence digit span is 8 as i’ve tested over and over.

Why the disparity? Is my IQ not as high as I thought? lol.
