Sooooo I need some help..
Ive been playing guitar for almost 15 years, all self taught, tried reading music and could never get the hang of it so I've played by ear and tabs my whole life.
Been a metal musician in both guitar and drums, even toured, and all was fine and well.
But im now joining my worship team at church and am quickly learning how vastly different the play style is, and also seeing just how much I've neglected my own learning by not knowing really any theory beside the basis of the caged system. (Again, as stated before, I did this to myself lol)
So I need to essentially learn the fundamentals i never taught myself, making sure I know keys, shapes, etc.
Was hoping someone here would know where and how to begin. In the most rffective manner?
