How to get keloid removal/srt radiation covered by insurance
Hello! I’ve finally decided to get my keloids removed after years of injections and gel patches. My dermatologist I’ve been going to for years on and off just started offering srt and I’m incredibly interested in it. Unfortunately after looking up pricing it just seems so completely out of budget.
For a little context I’ve have 8 keloids total. A large one on back shoulder, one tiny long one on my chest, and 7 medium ones on my mons pubis and outer vaginal lips (sorry if this isn’t correct terminology). I’ve had most of them for more than 7+ years and they probably my largest and most painful insecurity. They are also incredibly painful (sharp shooting pain, red swollen and itchy) over the years the pain has just gotten worse. I’ve done injections and they just always grew back. I even got laser hair removal which helped but they are still just so ugly.
I’ve heard of people getting cosmetic procedures covered by insurance but I’m just not sure how to go about asking or even starting the conversation surrounding it. Any help would be appreciated my consult appointment is in a few weeks!
