Chronic pancreatitis advice

Chronic pancreatitis advice

Our poor girl was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis today. She went off food and became lethargic last Thursday, and by the early hours of Friday we took her to the out of hours vet as she was visibly in pain. Back to our regular vet when they opened, who were superstars with her. A whole day on fluids and IV pain relief, then she was able to come home on Friday evening. Fortunately she remained at home after a Saturday checkup (with a cocktail of meds) and is now mostly back to normal. Its been a scary few days!

Do any other owners have experience with pancreatitis in their lurchers? I'm seeking advice on tasty dog foods that have been successfully tolerated, and also generally avoiding another acute flair up. Our vet said to try low fat hydrolyzed foods, however our lady is extremely picky at the best of times. Added tax showing our absolutely zooted Belle on Friday evening after her return home.

As my title says, I got my letter from the endo consultant today saying results of my urine test are normal. Prolactin levels have to be tested again in 4 months. The fatigue and sweating continues, and more stretchmarks are appearing all the time. My willingness to push the NHS took a hit with that letter and I'm starting to feel like a hypochondriac. Does anyome have advice on where to go from here, or stories of a similar experience?
