I recently finished an MS in Data Analytics and I found I really liked the statistics part of it. The program gave a lot of breadth touching on different parts of DA, but it didn't give much depth.

Would it be a bad idea or strange to get a 2nd Masters or Grad Cert in Statistics to go deeper and possibly open more doors? Would it affect me negatively having both on my resume?

I really want to get into some sort of data science or statistician role for non profits, but I worry I can't compete with people with true stats degrees for the more technical roles.

I (27M, USA) have just completed my MS in Data Analytics and have a BA in business admin. I am second guessing my goals of becoming a data analyst, partially because of the market and partially with what the work will be. My degree gave me a lot of breadth in fields, so Im wondering if I should go for more depth too.

I would love to work more with statistics or maybe some sort of research. Im not exactly a people person, so I don't want to be stuck in meetings all the time. I also can't decide what domain to try to target to break into. People say be a generalist and learn after, but that seems to make it harder to find a job imo. I landed an unpaid internship after 700 apps, but I really want to secure a job.

What job titles or other options can I look into that my degrees and internship will still be relevant? Should I go deeper into stats?

I have looked into Data science, Data engineering, actuarial science, biostatistics and more. I can't seem to pick a path because every path seems so tough to get into. I would love to take a role that has a positive social impact

I wouldnt say Data is my passion, but I dont have anything else I have too much interest in, in terms of career roles.
