For those of you who had tinnitus in one ear and then lost 100% of the hearing in that ear due to nerve damage. Also assuming the hearing in your working ear is still at 100%.

How does being deaf compare to having tinnitus? Does the relief you feel from no longer having tinnitus outweigh the deafness?

I am having a procedure done where one of the risks is total hearing loss in my ear with tinnitus.
