Road noise/vibration in rear 2016 X1
I’ve got a 2016 X1 that seems to have some sort of sympathetic vibration occurring in the rear. (All in KM/h) It’s quiet up to about 40, loud at 40-50, quieter at 60-70, louder at 80-90, quieter at 100, loud again 110-120…
The bearings seem fine, brakes are in good shape, brand new tires, the diff is dry and I believe to be okay (let it roll at speed in neutral).
Interestingly, I’d originally pinpointed the sound to the rear right, but I solved that by removing a walnut I found lodged against the dust plate.
I’d also add that I bought new tires last week, and asked the guy if he could take a look while it was up on the hoist - he also said everything looked good, and I left hoping/assuming the new tires would solve the noise (the old ones were cupping a bit)
This all brings me back to that guy in the picture; should I be able to wiggle that diff vibration absorber around? It’s not flapping about, but there’s definitely play in it
