I accidentally almost cut off my thumb woodworking and I got hired and start training in a week 😭😭😭 how much do i need a thumb for work???

So, im quite worried as I was quiet confident in my dexterity and motor skills for making drinks, etc but I was making a bed over the weekend and accidentally cut a deep gash in my right thumb and part of my nail got cut. Its fine when I don’t move much but my right hand cant do certain movements like full grip strength and any overextending of the thumb, it should heal over time but im worried because my training starts in a week, I need the job and cant mess up because of a freak accident involving my thumb. Sorry if this is a silly question but how was training and do I need to use thumb frequently? I probably cant open jars with tight lids, or use only right hand without support of left for a bit. Here is what it looks bandaged. Do I have to inform manager about my injury? Or just play it cool and pretend Im okay for a week?
