Looking for CR where MMC is already in the FMC’s life in some capacity and has to watch her in be in a relationship where she isn’t treated the way she should be. Preferably MMC is the brother or friend of the boyfriend who isn’t cutting it.

To clarify, no abuse in the starting relationship for FMC. Maybe just that he doesn’t take her out enough or tell her she’s beautiful or just overall makes her feel plain.

I’m coming to Reddit and specifically the romantasy Reddit to try and get the scoop on a specific author and book series. I’m referring to the tempting the fates series by Alice Wilde. This author set the release date for book 5 in October 2025, then canceled pre-orders and pushed the date to January of 2026 but then GHOSTS all their fans. No book updates on socials. Just disappeared. I knew this series was a cash grab for them when they did not conclude the story in book 4. So it clearly doesn’t mean much if they left it unfinished but it makes me so angry because I’ve invested so much time into just WAITING for the books to be released, to get them and see another cliffhanger.

I’m genuinely rambling now because I’m upset that this author wrote a story that I enjoyed so much and then i think about the fact that i may not get a conclusion and I’m just angry. I don’t care how much i loved the series i will never read from this author again.

Ending with a hopeful question. Does anyone know when book 5 will be released???
