Hey everyone. Disclaimer- I’m pretty new to shiny hunting in old gens.

I have been at this for quite some time with 3 different switches. I have been resetting for about 90 hrs for each game and have had no luck getting a shiny charmander. What I did was saved in front of the ball and when it’s not the shiny I press a + b + x + y for a soft reset and then skip the intro and load save file and try again over and over. Is this the correct way to do it?

I see a lot of posts about rng manipulation and it seems like timing the intro could matter. What you guys think? Thanks for your help!
