I had to advocate for myself to my OBGYN because I don’t have a PCP at the moment. She called me with the news after my biopsy yesterday. 1.7 cm nodule on the right side is papillary thyroid cancer. She can’t give me more info other than that so I’m being referred to Dana Farber in Boston for a surgery. Don’t really know next steps until they call me and I refuse to read my results without a specialist. Just freaking out and not sure what to do with myself. I’ve had to call out of work the last 3 days and I’m not wanting to go in next week either. Has anyone done PFML for a thyroidectomy which I assume is what I’ll have? What’s the recovery like? I’m worried it has spread.
