Why do people even believe in God

This is purely for curiosity.

I don't understand how people can believe in a big man in the sky with superpowers that loves anyone and send people to heaven or hell if they are good or bad. That sounds like something straight out of a sci fi comic. Also there is literally no proof of anyone sort of god of any kind yet there is Natural disasters, diseases, predation, and millions of years of animal suffering predate humans and human evils (genocide, child cancer, immense pointless pain). Also what happens to the cavemen that existed before the idea of god was made up, Do they just get dragged down to hell? And why are the majority of christians pretty much racist and trump and co. It would make more sense to believe in lizard people or vampires.

righteo, thats my rant.

Debate religion

Alright, I in no way mean this to across as rude or offensive this is purely curiosity.

I am just seeking another point of view on this argument. God is often defined in ways that make it unfalsifiable e.g beyond science or mysterious ways, which conveniently evades scrutiny but also means there's nothing positive to support belief. There is also No repeatable, verifiable evidence exists prayers don't outperform chance in controlled studies, miracles lack rigorous documentation outside anecdotal or ancient texts, and the universe operates according to consistent natural laws without detectable intervention. If an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-good God exists, gratuitous suffering should not yet natural disasters, disease, predation and millions of years of genocide doesnt sound very loving.

Also the mythic elements of Virginia birth, water to wine, walking and water, miracles and resurrections sounds like something out of a marvel movie.

What happens to the cavemen and animals millions of years before jesus, do they just get dragged down to hell as they didnt believe?

The universe's scale, age (13.8 billion years), and fine-tuning are better explained by multiverse hypotheses, anthropic selection, or unknown physics than a deity who then hides. Evolution explains biodiversity without design.

Alright alright, that's my debate. Thanks you.
