Strength gain while losing weight

If im a 240 pound man and im in a calorie deficit everyday trying to lose weight should I expect to get weaker and maybe even lose some muscle even while working out 4 days a week? I've worked out before but injuries have caused multiple setbacks

Why do people post BW when showing a lift?

In my opinion if you're a beginner in the gym your bodyweight really has no impact on the amount of weight you can lift. BW doesn't really come into play until you have more experience in the gym.
