So, I still haven’t gotten a rental car for my trip because I was looking into Adobe and Adobe is in $1000 deposit and then Vamos is a $2000 deposit. Is this typical for Costa Rica?

Are there any rental car companies that don’t require such a high deposit amount? That are also reliable and have reliable vehicles.

In Mexico, we only had to put down a $300 deposit for our rental car and then El Salvador we put down $800 of a deposit. Obviously it’s different everywhere so I just wanted to make sure.

I’m flying into Liberia.

Hi,

  • Arrive Liberia (LIR)
  • 30–40 min drive
  • Beach + sunset + dinner

May 13 — Rincón Day Trip

  • Rincón de la Vieja National Park
  • 1.5 hr drive
  • Hike (mud pots, waterfall), optional zipline/hot springs
  • Return evening

May 14 — Beach Hopping

  • Playa Conchal
  • Playa Flamingo
  • Las Catalinas / Playa Danta

May 15 — Drive to La Fortuna
Stay: La Fortuna

  • 3–3.5 hr drive
  • Stop: Lake Arenal
  • Afternoon: La Fortuna Waterfall

May 16 — Jungle + Hot Springs

  • Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park
  • Ziplining
  • Night: Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa

May 17 — Volcano + Return

  • Arenal Volcano National Park
  • Drive 3–3.5 hr to Liberia
  • Stay near airport

May 18 — Departure

I'm scared about the rain and if I'm leaving anything out. I'll be booking a rental with either Adobe or Vamos. Let me know if it will be too rainy during these dates if you know the weather over there. And if my itinerary is good. It's graduation present to myself.
