Coming off Reta

Decided to finish my journey with reta about three weeks ago, and while the food noise has come back a little, it’s not super overwhelming. Maybe it will get worse in the coming weeks but I wanted to share my experience for those who are not wanting to be “lifers.”

Reta helped me lose 38 pounds postpartum but I was very disciplined and regimented with my diet and training, and always have been for the last 10 years. I decided to give Reta a try out of curiosity and to level up. So far I’ve stayed the same weight and have had the same measurements. Sitting at about 143-145lbs depending on the day, food intake, water weight, etc. I found the right macros post calorie deficit, and in a body recomp phase keeping protein high but calories at about 100 below maintenance just to make sure body fat isn’t gained but holding on to muscle.

I didn’t know how I would feel getting off Reta but it’s been very manageable and I feel in control. There aren’t a lot of posts about coming off and what happens after, I just wanted to provide some positive feedback about coming off.

Don’t let the mental part of coming off affect you, just stay the course, figure out healthy body recomp macros and stick to your training and diet. You’ll be good!
