Short video of my backyard panel setup.
This is really about recharge capacity — building a setup that can recover better when outages go longer.
This is really about recharge capacity — building a setup that can recover better when outages go longer.
This is where the solar side of my setup is at right now: 16 EcoFlow 125W bifacial rigid modular panels wired 2S8P.
The more I build around backup power, the less I think in terms of just battery size and the more I think about recharge capacity.
That’s really what this is about for me — building something that has a better chance of holding up once an outage goes past Day 1.
Still testing and dialing it in, but I’m curious what other people think:
- anyone else running these panels in a 2S8P setup?
- what kind of real-world performance are you seeing?
- do you see this as overkill, or just what it takes if recharge is part of the plan?
Just got my SG4000 smart generator set up as part of my backup power system.
Lately I’ve been thinking less in terms of just battery size and more in terms of recharge paths. Solar is great when it’s there, but having generator backup in the system makes the whole setup feel a lot more realistic for longer outages.
That’s what I like about the SG4000 so far — it adds another way to keep the system going instead of just waiting for battery to run down.
Still testing and dialing it in, but curious how other people here are using theirs and what lessons you learned during setup.
Hey everyone,
New here, but I’ve been deep into testing EcoFlow setups for a while.
One thing I keep coming back to is that runtime gets talked about a lot, but recharge is what really decides whether a setup holds up or not.
Anybody can say a unit ran something for a few hours.
What I’m more interested in is:
how it performs with real loads
how fast and reliably it can come back
how to build around longer outages instead of just Day 1
I’ve been testing different EcoFlow units, battery expansion ideas, and recharge approaches to see what actually makes the most sense in real use.
Looking forward to learning from the group and sharing what I’m seeing along the way.
What’s been the biggest real-world lesson you’ve learned from your EcoFlow setup?
