I have a question, especially regarding Proton. I’m currently dual-booting Fedora and Arch, and I’m testing both to decide which OS I want to keep using. I also have a Steam Library stored on a shared partition.
My question is: can I safely run games from both operating systems using the same Steam Library, or could this cause issues?
I’m also wondering about save files and compatdata. Since they are stored inside the shared Steam Library, I’m concerned that Proton from one OS might reuse the same compatdata from the other system, potentially leading to conflicts or overwriting data.
Has anyone here actually tried this kind of dual-boot + shared Steam Library setup? How did it go in practice?
