OccuHealth, Inc. MA - Involving Home Insurance Claims
LOCATION: Massachusetts
Has anyone in Massachusetts encountered OccuHealth Inc. during a home insurance claim?
Our insurance company brought them in after a furnace fire to evaluate the safety of our home. In our case, the assessment (performed by Mr. Hamilton) directly conflicted with independent environmental testing that identified hazardous off-gassing in the house.
What’s been frustrating is the level of discrepancy — not just a difference in interpretation, but conclusions that seem to downplay or dismiss documented findings. It raised serious concerns for us about how objective these evaluations are when they’re arranged by the insurer.
In trying to understand this, I’ve come across others describing similar experiences, where third-party consultants hired by insurance companies appear to minimize risk in ways that benefit claim outcomes.
I’m curious if anyone else in MA has had firsthand experience with OccuHealth, or with insurer-retained environmental consultants in general.
If you’re going through something similar, one thing I would strongly recommend is getting your own independent environmental testing so you have an unbiased baseline to compare against.
My question is: does anyone have any legal advice for dealing with corrupt 3rd parties hired by home insurance companies?
Would really appreciate hearing others’ experiences.
