Would you put a ladder in your pool if it has rust in the legs?

The ladder was only used last summer. It was stored in the garage over winter. When we got in from the garage and brought it outback to put in the pool, we noticed a far amount of rust that looks like it came out from inside the legs.

Is it safe to put in the pool? What would you do?

Does anyone else see the greenish darkness on the bottom around the edge of the pool?

I just opened my pool after having it winterized and covered. I drained water level to right below the in/out puts then plugged them. Disconnected hoses and pump and stored them in the garage. Tossed in Winterizing pills (from Amazon). Then tightly covered the pool.

Last weekend I took the cover off. Water was clear with no debris. Reset up the pump and hoses with a new filter. Filled the pool back to the proper fill line. Ran the pump for a few hours. Shocked with liquid chlorine. Then placed my new cordless sweeper in for a couple hours.

The next day I tested my levels.

Chlorine 5-10

PH 7.4

Alkaline 90

CYA 65 (last season it was 190. Had to drain 75% and refill)

Hardness 0 (yes I will bring this up)

All week I’ve ran the pump off and on and had the sweeper going once or twice each day. But when I look across the pool at the water, I see like darkness that almost has a green tint to it at the bottom along the edge. When I walk up to those areas and look straight down at it, I don’t see anything it looks clear. So am I seeing things? I don’t remember seeing this last summer.

UPDATE: I’m in the process of SLAM, scrubbing and vacuuming. When I scrubbed the areas where I saw the greenish darkness a cloud with a green tint came up. Is this dead algae? Also, I’m not 100% sure if my cordless vacuum is picking it up from the bottom along the edges. The only other vacuum I have is manual and Id have to climb in the pool to do it. I normally wouldn’t mind as this is how I cleaned my pool before getting the cordless one I just got. But the water is absolutely freezing at the moment. So I’m just going to keep repeating the SLAM, scrubbing and using my cordless vacuum (yes I’m cleaning it and the pump filter) and hope that works. It’s the vacuum isn’t picking up the dead algae then next weekend I’ll have to suck it up and climb in the pool and manual vacuum.

Pray for me lol

I need help finding an in wall skimmer for my pool. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I want to install an in wall skimmer but struggling to find one that is compatible with my pool and filter.

I upgraded the filter pump last year (pic attached) and had to cut into the liner to make the hole larger for the out put that came with the new pump. It was extremely stressful because if it wasn’t cut right then the liner would’ve been ruined. These specific liners for this specific pool aren’t sold individually so replacing them isn’t possible. I’d have to buy a whole new pool.

So I want to make sure I choose the right skimmer. I’ve been looking on Amazon for one but it’s confusing. I can’t tell if they can be installed into a soft wall pool liner or not.

I have found one that I think might work but how do I know if it’s compatible for my pump also? I’ll post the link for it in the comments

Thanks!
