Hey everyone,
Quick question for coaches (amateur to higher levels):
How do you handle substitutions during a match, especially when it comes to tactical instructions?
More specifically:
- player positioning
- tactical role (pressing, runs, adjustments, etc.)
How do you communicate this in such a short time on the sideline?
Do you just explain it verbally, or do you use any visual tools (whiteboard, tablet)?
I’ve noticed that sometimes players don’t fully understand their role right away, which can lead to confusion on the pitch.
Is this something you experience as well, or does it usually work smoothly for you?
