I have had my permanent upper plate for over 2 years. Gone to dentist regularly. About a week ago, i got a sore where my lip meets the gums. I have been taking the plate out as much as possible and not sleeping with it. It starts to feel better but when I go to put the upper plate in, it hurts so. damn. bad! Once it is in for a bit, it feels fine but gets worse throughout the day. Just now, I felt like it ripped open and the pain is back - WAY earlier than normal. No bleeding that I can tell, but I cannot see the sore. Anyone else deal with this? My dentist is closed until Monday (family emergency). Should I try to get into a different dentist (Aspen)? My husband (also has dentures due to a car accident) says the sore that was originally there hardened up and should be ok but now I am worried with the ripping sensation.
