In the 5-10 mins i spent driving through Civic and Braddon last night I saw,
Car with the plates "Sh*kti" jump a red light outside the Canberra Centre
Saw someone use a shopping cart from Aldi and dump it outside the ANZ Bank at the Canberra Centre after loading their car that was parked in the loading zone.
Saw someone parked in the disabled parking in front of Club Lime on Lonsdale St.
Saw cars double parked and blocking the entrance through a driveway right under a no stopping sign, potentially to pick up a food order.
These 5-10 mins were an accurate reflection of the nightmarish situation in the civic because of similar instances like this.
All of these above involved people from here and those that have moved here (potentially and not jumping to any conclusions here, but we have a way of telling/recognising each other).
Now my questions are, where is your civic sense? Do you completely disregard rules or is it that you don't know them? Why not move to a new place and make an effort to adapt to rules that were created to make things better for everyone? Why make life difficult for everyone else?
For everybody else reading this, please call out this behaviour objectively and politely (preferably without asking those that don't look like you to "go back to their country").
If you have your phone/dashcam take a video and use the footage to file a report.
Don't tolerate it. You don't need to.
For those that are indulging in this behaviour, please take a minute to think about how you are affecting people around you and yourself through your actions.
Keen to hear whether other people feel the same way or whether i'm just losing my mind over nothing.
