Our dog, who is around 11 years old, has had about 5 what we assumed are partial seizures. Each time she is outside running and excited over something like our neighbor. Her legs just give out and she falls, sometimes getting stiff legs with a paddling motion for maybe 15 seconds. She never loses consciousness but just lays there for a couple minutes after. Once she gets up she doesn't seem out of it at all. We took her to the vet after the first one and all her bloodwork and exam came back normal. They just told us to let them know if it happened again. I called after she had another and they prescribed her phenobarbital and offered a referral to a neurologist to do an MRI. Our vet had talked to a neurologist and they had suggested it was probably a brain tumor. She has been on the phenobarbital for 2 weeks and just had another one today running along our fence. We just went through this with a dog that passed about a year ago, he started with a grand mal seizure and then had a lot of neurological issues leading to almost nonstop partial seizures so we euthanized him. I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of seizures that only happen specifically when she is worked up or if it could possibly be something else? We are just confused by the fact that she is back to completely fine within a couple minutes when it took quite a while for our previous dog.
