It’s officially been one year since my first trip to Italy, and in that time, I’ve been on a mission to find Australia’s best sparkling water. But here’s the thing – I’m not talking about your usual brands like Mount Franklin, Capi, or the store-branded ones from Coles/Woolies. I’m after the authentic imported sparkling water – the kind that bubbles like crazy and has such an intense fizz that it brings tears to your eyes.
The only time I’ve ever had sparkling water like this was in Italy, and what blew my mind was that every brand over there had that same amazing effect. Sadly, I haven’t been able to replicate that experience here in Australia. I’ve gone through case after case of San Pellegrino glass bottles, but I’m starting to think that maybe it’s because they’re made for export or spend too much time in the sun during transport – by the time they arrive here, they’ve lost almost all their fizz and might as well be regular water.
So, I’m turning to you guys for help. What is the best sparkling water available in Australia that can give that authentic, intense fizz, and where can I get it from?
