I’ve kept planted aquariums for 5+ years with a variety of fish and setups, but I will be moving into a college dorm in the coming fall and am debating setting up an aquarium while I’m there and wanted to know if anyone had similar experiences.
Also the college has a 5 gallon tank limit, but do you think I could convince them that a larger bookshelf aquarium is just a 5 gallon? Non fish people don’t seem to have a very good grasp on how big a gallon of water actually is, and if I could get somthing closer to a 10 gallon that would open a lot of options.
Is this feasible at all? Will I even have the time to balance that? I would likely keep a betta, or if I could only do the 5 gallon just a shrimp tank. The college lets tanks stay plugged in over school breaks so thats not a worry
