Hi! Me and my bf are looking for a beach-front AL to relax and party at this Summer. Probably end of July. I’ve already created an exhausted list of AL’s and looked through so many posts here so I’ve gotten some good advice. However, the ones I found to have consistently good quality rooms, food, beach and service are usually way out of my budget. And yet, those still have mixed reviews so I don’t feel great on going out of budget for those. I’ve traveled solo my entire life so I really want to make sure I pick a good place since my bf has never traveled out of the states (from US) so want to make this worth it! Also I’ve never been to an AL.
Here are my stats:
Destination: Mexico or DR has cheapest flights and most AL options but I’m open to anywhere that’s not more than roughly $800 a round trip flight.
Budget: ~$300/night but willing to go $100 above for standard room. Obviously preferable to stay within ~$250-350/night with AL and free cancellation. Room aesthetic doesn’t matter much but definitely want working AC, no weird smells or bed bugs :)
Must haves: Activities or parties on sight and/or indoors in case it rains/storms. I don’t want a party exclusive resort, I’m fine with a good balance. I still want to relax.
Decent food, I’m not picky but don’t want to starve or get sick.
Decent alcohol, I’m fine with it being cheap since it is AL but there needs to be some variety.
Decent service as in I don’t want to have to wait long to receive a drink, etc.
Beach access and swimmable (seaweed might be an issue at some so nice pools will come in handy there)
Stay: 6 nights, 5 days. End of July or if y’all recommend another time lmk. Free cancellation in case of really bad storms or hurricanes.
